University of Illinois Chicago

The Adolescent and Young Adult Research (AYAR) team @ UIC is dedicated to advancing HIV prevention science for adolescents and young adults in Chicago, IL, and across the United States. The AYAR team also provides clinical care for adolescents and young adults throughout metropolitan Chicago and suburbs through the hospitals and community health centers of University of Illinois @ Chicago. We have extensive experience providing gender affirming care, as well as recruiting and retaining participants in clinical trials. Primarily our recruiting efforts are centered on direct clinic referral, community partner referral, community outreach activities such as pride events, health fair, park canvassing, and tabled events, as well online recruitment through social media networks.
